Hello! So yesterday was spent getting a lot of stuff that needed to be done around the house, started a new painting and did no blogging. It was a totally needed break from social media and I feel so much better after getting so much accomplished.
The new painting I started may or may not have to do with this song…Can’t wait to show you guys (:
Since we moved into our house (last September) we have had to have the fireplace barricaded so that Levi could not get on it and hurt himself. That child is into everything and it took lots of toys and pillows to make the barricade, and to be honest I have been completely sick of looking at it. It’s obviously necessary for his safety- but was a major eye sore. But yesterday I had just had enough of it and decided to do something about it. It is still blocked off but definitely much better, don’t you think?
Moving on to my new obsession…
If you follow me on Instagram than you saw the picture I posted of part of my dinner the other night. I don’t even remember what I ate as my main dish, because the side dish stole the show!
Growing up my dad always talked about hating brussels sprouts so they were never cooked in our house. Well as of lately, I couldn’t stop thinking about them and kept almost buying them every time I went to the grocery store. Finally I took the plunge…and oh my gosh I am in love.
Garlic Roasted Brussels Sprouts
- 1 lb. brussels sprouts
- 1 clove of garlic, smashed and chopped (You can also use minced)
- 2 tsp. olive oil
- salt and pepper to taste
- Set oven to low-broil
- Cut brussels sprouts in half and remove ends.
- Toss sprouts in oil and garlic.
- Lay flat on baking sheet and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
- Roast for a total of 25 minutes, turning once halfway.
It was seriously hard not to eat the whole batch!
Before I end, I wanted to tell you about a new project I am working on. I am now designing/running a blog for a boutique here in Knoxville called Kristi! If I could afford to I would literally buy the whole store…and I am not even joking. If you are ever in Knoxville I highly suggest you stop by and if you are not nearby, hopefully later this year Kristi will have an online store!
You can check out the blog HERE, like Kristi on facebook or follow on Instagram!
hope you guys have a great day (:
